Why Is There a Need to Remove Wisdom Teeth?

Have you heard of wisdom teeth? Well, you would definitely have heard of them because they are not those teeth that come with other teeth, they are actually four teeth that are three molar. If you were below 17 or 18, you would probably have 28 teeth. However when you grow up in period of three to four years, you are definitely going to find your wisdom tooth coming. These teeth, when they come up are very painful. They tear through the gums and thus, cause a lot of pain. Many people prefer getting the wisdom teeth removed. They remove them for a number of reasons.

One of the most common reasons because of which people remove their wisdom teeth is tooth decay. Lot saliva gathers around the wisdom tooth, similarly bacteria also gather there. As a result, the tooth can decay. This decay will be followed by pain and infection. To avoid all this, people usually remove this. Another reason is gun infection. For many people, the Wisdom Teeth erupt partially. During that time, bacteria gather there, and as a result, one experiences gum disease. As a result, one may suffer from bad breath. When the wisdom tooth erupts, then also pain is felt. Some people remove the Wisdom Teeth to get relief from the pain. For some people, wisdom teeth may also cause a difference in the alignment of the teeth. Sometimes they may push the other to allow them to come out. For that purpose also, people remove these.

Sometimes cyst is also formed around the wisdom tooth. This cyst is a small fluid bag that is formed. It may cause jaw damage and problem with the bone. When cyst is not treated, it may grow bigger. Now people ask that if Wisdom Teeth do not cause problem, then should they let them stay. It is common that wisdom teeth create problems. The problems occur suddenly. It is best that you visit your dentist and get your wisdom teeth removed, even if they are not causing much problem. It is easier to get surgery and it will not take time for patient to recover. It is a minor thing at the age of tm and may get severe, if left untreated.

You should especially get the wisdom teeth removed if you are planning to travel. The pain in wisdom teeth erupts suddenly, without any symptoms from before. That is why, during travel, it is best that you get them removed before that, so that you do not have to suffer from problems. However, one thing must be remembered. If your dentist diagnoses the infection in your teeth, make sure you do not go for the removal of wisdom teeth in the presence of infection. The infection is supposed to be treated with the help of medication. Then only surgery can take place for removing the wisdom teeth. Make sure you do everything right. Otherwise this surgery may go against what you want.
